June 26, 2017- Day 9

After devos this morning with the adults/staff, I went and prayed with the women who work at the clinic with Juliana, the American missionary living there. I stood next to Stella, the woman who washes our clothes and sweeps our rooms. I felt like God wanted her to know that she is precious and treasured, loved and wanted, cherished and so very worthy. She seemed a bit downcast as we prayed, and I felt the nudge in my spirit to tell her, but shied away. After we prayed and she walked away, I knew I had to find her and tell her. So, I did. After I told her, I hesitantly asked if I could give her a hug. She seemed angry at my words I'd just shared. She was pensive. When I asked if I could hug her, she turned towards me and drew close. I wrapped my arms around her, but before I even could, she started to cry. It was a humble moment where God used me to encourage someone else.

Evening devotions are long over with now. I think sharing my testimony with the kids went well. My craft went well, too. I think the kids enjoyed making the bracelets that say, "Courage".

In the shower earlier, while I was all lathered up with soap, the water stopped. It was not flowing out like it should have been. The guys ended up fixing it, but in the time I stood there, soap all over me and in my hair, with no water coming out to rinse off, I wondered what I would do....It makes me thankful for running water and that I don't have to bathe in a bucket. Also, I'm thankful for hot water that, in America, we don't have to light/heat with a flame.

At devos tonight, I requested to sing "Good, Good Father" at worship with the kids. It was beautiful to sing it with them. A line in it says, "You are perfect in all of Your ways to us."I haven't thought about what that verse meant until tonight. God is perfect in all of His ways to me. This means that He will not hurt me or cause me harm. In all of His ways with me, He is perfect, holy, unblemished, pure. I can completely trust Him.

This morning Kyle said my testimony was the best that they have ever heard in Tharaka. Victoria cried. Many on the team said it was their favorite part of the day. I give glory back to you, God.

Tonight before dinner, Jessi brought a plastic plate to be washed. I ended up teaching Dismus how to play Frisbee with it. After a while, Alfie brought out a bunch of real frisbees so we could play Frisbee with the kiddos. It was so much fun!
